Paul Kimber

Paul Kimber was born in Northern Ireland and studied double bass with Barry Young, and at the Guildhall with Thomas Martin. As an orchestral bassist Paul has held co-principal positions at ENO and the LPO, and currently holds a section principal position at the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. He has appeared as guest principal with many London and UK orchestras, and has played on hundreds of Film, TV, CD, Library, Jingle and Sampling sessions. Paul has had a long-standing involvement in jazz performing and writing, including many gigs with his own quartet, trio and duo, and releasing three critically acclaimed albums. In his free time Paul can be found on his smallholding in Kent, or writing fiction as RSJ Steel.
