Helen Simons

Helen grew up in Devon before attending the Purcell School, London, to study with David Chatterton. Whilst at the Royal Academy of Music studying with John Orford and Rachel Gough she went to Vienna on an Erasmus scholarship to learn with Milan Turkovic. A founder member of the Galliard Ensemble wind quintet who were Radio 3 New Generation Artists, Helen went on to join the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in 2001. As well as playing in the orchestra Helen very much enjoys working on the Resound Team who deliver community and education projects in a huge variety of settings. Since 2010 Helen has been on the teaching staff at the Guildhall School of Music.
