Georgie Powell

Georgie Powell is a bassoonist from Salford. She studied at Guildhall school of music and drama with Miriam Gussek, Dan Jemison and Meyrick Alexander with generous support from the Guildhall school trust. From there she continued her studies with Bram van Sambeek in the Netherlands, where she pursued a keen interest in contemporary music, regularly collaborating with composers. She now freelances with orchestras and ensembles around the UK and the Netherlands. Her instrument was purchased with the assistance of the Wolfson foundation, the Sir John Barbirolli foundation and her long-suffering parents.
