Dominic Morgan

Dominic Morgan is Principal contra-bassoon of the London Symphony Orchestra and Professor of contra-bassoon at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

After studying at The Royal Northern College of Music he began his professional career with English National Opera. He has freelanced widely working with all the major British orchestras, and is sought-after in the studio, recording many movie soundtracks from Star Wars to Harry Potter, Shrek and Grand Budapest Hotel.

Highlights from last year include Ravel’s Mother Goose and l’Enfant et Les Sortileges at The Proms. When not playing the bassoon or making reeds Dominic likes cycling up hills, cooking and making sourdough bread.
