Cerys Ambrose-Evans

Cerys began learning the Bassoon at the age of 15 after previously playing the double bass. She then studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, learning with Miriam Gussek, Daniel Jemison and Helen Simons, winning the Howarth-GSMD Bassoon Prize in 2013. After this, she studied with Bram van Sambeek at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. Since moving back to the UK, Cerys enjoys a varied freelance career, performing with the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, as well as many others. In her spare time, Cerys enjoys learning about wine, and is currently studying for her level 3 WSET certification.
