Callum Murray

Callum Murray is a jazz drummer originally from Milton Keynes in England. From an early age, he found the communicative potential of the drums fascinating, teaching himself how to play, and participating in rehearsals and concerts with the Woburn Sands Brass Band. He was accepted to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama at 18, and began having his first drum lessons. He is now in his fourth year at Guildhall, having studied under teachers including James Maddren, Ralph Salmins, Matt Skelton, Tom Farmer, Will Glaser and Barak Schmool. Callum has been lucky to perform with a number of outstanding musicians including Mike Lovatt (BBC Big Band, John Wilson Orchestra), and Elliot Mason (Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra). Because of his parallel interest in composition, Callum has also been fortunate to study under Dr. Paul Newland and Professor Nye Parry
